Donate to spark change in our community. Your donation will be used to launch winning technology ideas with the goal to make change in our city.
We are crowdfunding a minimum of $55,000 to fund at least 2 ideas with an award of $25,000 each.
Additional funds raised will be used to fund additional ideas.
One additional winner per $25,000 raised.
Get Involved – ReInventSF is seeking a partnership with an accounting firm to track, audit and create financial transparency reports to be published online.
Have an Idea?
Win $25,000 & launch it.
Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2022.
Submissions will be pitched in a 3 minute live presentation of the idea. Support and events will be offered to help prepare applicants for the pitch presentation.
A panel of judges will individual score ideas based on a defined rubric.
Winning ideas with the highest scores will be awarded the $25,000 to launch their idea.
One “People’s Choice” Award will be awarded based on public polling.
Additional Ideas will be Awarded based on the total donation amount raised.
Some notable technologies like FasTrak, NextBus, ShotSpotter, 311 help improve the efficiency of our city; however, there are issues that exist that need a solution, specifically your bright idea.

Get Involved – ReInvent SF is seeking a partnership with a law firm to publish contest details including terms and conditions.
Application Requirements:
Contest is open to any individual or team.
Complete the online application form.
Include with the application the $50 processing fee. (note. If the campaign does not achieve the goal of raising $55,000, all applicants will be refunded.)
Important Dates (extended as of 10/25/21):
Midnight, January 15, 2022 – Application Submissions Ends
January 15, 2022 – Self Nominating Judge Submission Ends
January 25, 2022 – Public Voting for 10 Judges Ends
Midnight, January 31, 2022 – Contest Crowdfunding Ends
February 15, 2022 – Pitch Day
February 20, 2022 – Winners Announced
Winners & Award Distribution:
One “People’s Choice” Winner – $25,000
At least One Winner (based on Judge rubrics) – $25,000
additional winners awarded per $25,000 in additional donations over $55,000
Transparency of Funds:
90% of funds collected from crowdfunding paid as awards to Winners
10% of funds collected from crowdfunding paid to marketing and administrative fees
additional funds less than $25,000 will be donated to a San Francisco non-profit organization voted on publicly by our website community
Judges:
The panel of 16 judges will include:
- 8 judges self nominated and chosen by the public
- 8 anonymous judges invited because of their connection and contribution to San Francisco
Judge’s Pitch Scoring Rubric:
- Clarity defining the issue, including data and research facts to support the problem
- Explanation to Solve the issue
- Feasibility – Identifying potential hurdles and an actionable plan.
- Thorough plan to reach launch of technology
- Identify organizational strengths and needs

- Judges for our panel – Requirement: San Francisco Resident / 8 Judges will be selected by popular vote
- Mentors for idea applicants. Responsibilities include: guiding applicants to a successful pitch
